Doro brings first seniorentelefoon on Android in the Netherlands

Doro brings this month seniorentelefoon with Android on the Dutch market. The phone has a slide-out numeric keypad and runs on Android 2.3. Google services are not on the device.

Because there no Google services are present, the phone has no access to the Play Store. Instead, it has the phone under the name Selection own downloadable applications that focus on the interface of the phone. Doro also has its own skin over Android, making the users never in the standard Android environment. The phone can be done via a web interface, can be remotely set.

The device has a capacitive touch screen with a diagonal of 3.2″ and a resolution of 480×320 pixels. Under the screen buttons for Home, Back, Menu and Ok. Also, there are navigation buttons for up and down. A numeric keyboard is to slide. The phone has a 5-megapixel camera and has support for wi-fi, bluetooth 4.0 and gps.
