The Series 8 motherboards, a new chipset on the board, which, however, a bug in the usb 3.0 controller appears to have. When that bug came to light, wanted Intel not substantively respond and gave the company to the introduction of the Haswell-procesors and related chipsets, in any case, do not postpone. Now Intel has the problem formally through a Product Change Notification recognized, as noted Heise. The company has indicated that a new C2 stepping of the chipset, or platform controller hub, the problem will resolve.

The new stepping would be from July 15, only to manufacturers to be delivered, while 30 July as the last date is indicated. Until that time, will the C1 stepping of the chipset will be delivered. The processors on the new chipset hear the Haswell processors, which is expected early July will be introduced. The first motherboards and laptops with that processor are provided, with the C1-stepping, including the usb-bug of the chipset will be supplied.

The bug in the usb controller cause usb 3.0-devices not always correctly detected when a laptop or desktop pc from the S3 sleep state wakes up. The C1 and C2 steppings are distinguishable by their change in the Revision ID from 04h to 05h. The Haswell-based motherboards for desktops with a Series 8 chipset the chipset Z87, H87, B85, Q87 and Q85 on board; laptops with QM87, HM87 and HM86 chipset and serverborden with the chipset C222, C224 and C226 gain in July, the new stepping.
