Inventor and futurist Ray Kurzweil goes to Google to work on learning machines, and language processing. His official lwa le title will be Director of Engineering , and Kurzweil says some of the hardest problems in computer science’ to deal with Google.

Kurzweil made the step on its website. He starts Monday, december 17, with the search giant. “I’ve been long time interested in technology, and teaching machines in particular. When I was 14, I designed software that original music composition, and later I found, among other things, the first print-to-speech voorleesmachine for the blind. I’ve always practical systems which made a difference in the lives of people. That is what I am urging as an inventor,” writes the futurist.

He points out that he’s self-guided cars and mobile devices that users can answer already in 1999, predicted, and that Google now, with this kind of inventions is in progress. “I’m gold plated that I put together with Google at some of the most difficult problems in computer science can work so that we the ‘unrealistic visions of the next ten years, in reality, to be able to convert,” he says further.

Ray Kurzweil has made a significant contribution to the development of ocr technology, text-to-speech functionality and voice recognition. These techniques play a role in learning machines, or machine learning, which is part of the research into artificial intelligence. He also wrote many books with futuristic ideas. So is Kurzweil a supporter of the idea that there are technological and scientific field has an exponential trend, where Moore’s Law plays a role. Ultimately, this was to a superintelligence, and a technological singularity lead.
