In the MegaUpload case have the New Zealand authorities illegally suspects drained. That has the New Zealand government announced. The prime minister ordered an investigation into the events.

According to the New Zealand government is “in certain cases” in the MegaUpload case communications are intercepted, without the prime minister before approval was given. That was, however, required. At that moment there was already a warrant for the arrest of the MegaUpload employees, but only on the basis it had not drained.

The New Zealand prime minister has an investigation into the events ordered. According to the New Zealand Herald thinks the prime minister, John Key, that it was a mistake, not intentional. The New Zealand intelligence service may, in certain cases, communication of foreigners intercept without the approval of the prime minister, but to the inhabitants of New Zealand should not. Both MegaUpload ceo Kim Dotcom as of Dutch origin MegaUpload programmer Bram van der K. have a New Zealand passport.

It is not the first time that there are irregularities in the MegaUpload case to come to light. Earlier, the court ruled that the raids and searches in the case were done not in accordance with the law. In January, a number of employees of MegaUpload, including Dutchman Van der K., arrested on suspicion of copyright infringement. The United States want that the suspects, who is out on bail, to be free, to be delivered.
