Gigabyte launches FM2 motherboards

Gigabyte has nine motherboards for AMD’s Virgo platform ge lwa site, the desktopvariant of the Fusion platform. The top model of the motherboards with the FM2 socket is the F2A85X-UP4 which is aimed at overclockers.

The F2A85X-UP4 is built around AMD’s FM2 socket and A85X chipset and provides the user with six pci-express slots: three x16 and three x1 slots. Also has the board eight sata-600 ports, four ddr3 memory slots, hdmi, dvi outputs and a displayport, achtkanaalsgeluid and a gigabit network port. There is support for Crossfire and Eyefinity, six usb 3.0 and ten usb 2.0 ports. In addition, the board is equipped with two bios chips via a 3d-interface approach. The energy supply to the FM2 socket is controlled by a 6+2-vrm.

The motherboard is built with the Ultra Durable 5 specification, which the manufacturer promises that all materials on sustainability are selected. This must be the reliability of the system board to promote during the extreme conditions, where the during the overclocking to can be exposed.

In addition to the F2A85X-UP4-top model, there are three other motherboards in atx format. One is also based on the A85X chipset with one pci-express slot less and built using the Ultra Durable 4 specification. In addition, there are signs on the basis of the A75 and the A55 chipset.
