Dell would be working on a new monitor in the UltraSharp series, that of a extreembreedbeeldscherm. The extra-wide display would not only be a separate resolution, but also a different diagonal screen size of 29 inch.

Dell showed the new 29″monitor of the company, but the manufacturer would still not say when the new UltraSharp will be available. A teaser on the website keeps it on the ‘Coming soon’ and gives no further details. According to the Japanese blog Get-PC the ultra-wide display, and type U2913WM, have more than 2500 pixels’, presumably 2560 pieces. The number of vertical pixels would be 1080 pieces, derived from the hd-resolution, amounts.

That would be a pretty strong odd resolution for a screen; most 27″screens are 2560×1440 pixels and the 30″-ers have 2560-by-1600 pixels. According to Dell, the ultra-wide monitor is an alternative for users who have two normal displays next to each other. Competitors Philips and LG have a similar, ultra-wide displays is released, which may be the same ips panel.

The new U2913WM would a monitor with 2560×1080 pixels in a 29″-wide screen with a ips panel. The screen would have a brightness of 300cd/m2 and a response time of 5ms, viewing angles of 178 degrees horizontally and vertically. The Dell screen is equipped with D-sub, hdmi, dvi and displayport connectors, and has a usb hub on board.
