According to Dustin Browder, lead designer of Starcraft II, considering Blizzard Entertainment to the multiplayer part of StarCraft II free to play. The studio knows not yet how the money should earn free2play.

During a panel discussion in Valencia got Browder asked how Blizzard thinks about free playable games. Thereupon, he replied that the studio is considering for the multiplayer part of StarCraft II, the game which Browder the lead designer is free to play. Browder, however, sees even the practical objections. So he has no idea how Blizzard money would have to earn on a free playable multiplayer part. “For me, it can be very fun to play against someone who is but half of the units may choose the one that I have, but my opponents will be less fun.”

StarCraft II is particularly popular as an eSport. The strategic game is on a lot of tournaments played. Understand that area has the game, however, strong competition from somewhat similar games like League of Legends and Dota 2, both free to play. As well as StarCraft II partially free to play would be the more potential tournament players can attract so it can compete better with the free playable alternatives. Of StarCraft II, that in mid-2010 came on the market, forthcoming expansion Heart of the Swarm. The first invitations for participation in the beta test of the expansion are already out the door.
