Samsung shows 4,8″ ATIV S smartphone with Windows Phone 8

Samsung at the IFA in Berlin the ATIV S was announced, a smartphone with a 4.8″ amoled touchscreen and a 1.5 GHz dualcore processor. The ATIV S device runs on Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 8 operating system.

The 4,8″touchscreen, that Samsung’s HD Super Amoled is called, is equipped with Gorilla Glass 2. Internally there is a 1.5 GHz dualcore processor with 1GB ram. The 135 gram ATIV S is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 1.9-megapixel camera on the front.

Samsung comes with two ATIV S-models: a version with 16GB of internal flash storage and a version with 32GB. The storage capacity can still be expanded through a microsd card. There is a 2300mAh battery in the housing.

For communication with the outside world, the smartphone offers 3g with hspa+, dual-band 802.11 n-wi-fi, bluetooth 3.0 and nfc. Also gps – and glonass-navigatieondersteuning is integrated. On the device, a microusb input and a 3.5 mm headphone jack to find.

The ATIV S will be in the fourth quarter, on the Dutch market are available. The suggested retail price is 549 euros.
