The number of dnssec signed .en domains in the past two weeks has doubled and now amounts to more than 600,000. The netherlands is thus far ahead of other countries. The growth is due to a discount offer from the SIDN.
The SIDN is called the breaking of the 600,000 dnssec signed .nl domain names is a milestone. Only since may of this year for administrators .en domain it is possible to the dnssec protocol to activate it, but the growth is since then, exponentially. Earlier this month, the number of 355.000-signed domain names achieved and thus the Netherlands took the lead over from the Czech republic.
Since that time, the number even increased enormously, especially since the major parties as TransIP and Mydomain are busy with the signing of domain names. Dnssec was developed as a supplement to the dns protocol and must cache poisoning and man-in-the-middle attacks impossible. Dnssec links the response to a dns query to a digital signature, to verify authenticity. Dns servers are provided with a public key cryptography system: dns information about a domain is signed with a private key, so that users with a public key can verify that the information is tampered with.
