Google is going to make sure that websites that infringe on copyright are lower in the search results appear. When Google receives notification about copyright infringement, then the PageRank on custom.

According to the search giant, only legitimate requests that copyright holders submit taken for the search results. Websites of which Google is frequently notifications to ingest about copyright infringement will therefore be lower in the list. Incidentally, keep websites easy to find with Google search engine: the only specific urls where a copyright holder of a valid takedown request against submitting to be actually removed from the search results.

From next week the search algorithm is adjusted so that the number of takedown requests will be included in the PageRank. According to Google it should be so for users to make it easier to legitimate and high quality content to find. However, it is also likely that copyright holders at Google have pushed for such a feature to implement in the search engine.

Google gave earlier data about how many requests it gets to certain url’s from its search engine to remove it. The conclusion is that the number of requests is increasing. According to Google, there are 4.3 million urls removed in the last 30 days. That means that every day, more url’s from the search results to be extracted than in the entire year of 2009.
