Hackers have millions of usernames, email addresses and encrypted passwords have been published which come from the gamesite Gamigo. The data were captured on a hack that in march of this year took place.

An archive file containing a dump of the database that has the largest part of this month online been, but would now hoster Sendspace deleted, reports Forbes. A user of the Inside Pro forum the the dump, however, again put online. According to the website PwnedList, that data breaches keeps going to a database with more than eight million user names, email addresses and encrypted passwords. The re-uploaded dump, however, contains around seven million addresses and passwords, the rest would be to duplicate entries.

The database would primarily accounts from America, Germany and France. Pwnedlist found several e-mail addresses of large companies, including IBM, Allianz, Siemens, Deutsche Bank, and ExxonMobil. The topic set where the dump was originally posted was, speaks of md5 hashes, however, it is not yet known whether that is also accompanied by a salt. Is that not the case, then would the wachtwoordhashes possibly through the use of rainbow tables to decrypt.

Gamesite Gamigo had shortly after the hack in march already recognised that the database of personal data captured, but the number of more than eight million do not confirm. After the hack has Gamigo passwords of its users reset, users are informed and are security policies under scrutiny.
