Executive producer SW-TOR leaves BioWare

Rich Vogel, who as executive producer was head of the team at BioWare Austin mmog Star Wars: The Old Republic made, has left the company. There have been going longer rumors that layoffs are going to fall in the studio.

According to website Gamasutra is Rich Bird is no longer in the service of BioWare Austin. Vogel was the executive producer of Star Wars: The Old Republic and expressed a greater mark on the development of the mmog. BioWare neither owner Electronic Arts is, however, the departure of the ceo confirm. The departure of Bird comes in a period when many rumors are circulating about an impending layoff at BioWare Austin. Electronic Arts, however, wants the stories about redundancies could not be confirmed.

Star Wars: The Old Republic was released in december on the market. After initial success, ran the interest in the mmog from February, when the playing time that at purchase of the game was not delivered, expired was. Developer BioWare made then known to consider the game completely free to play, a way that more mmog’s which in the first instance, a subscription was needed, are gone.
