Google has entered into a cease & desist-letters sent to several ripsites for YouTube videos, which is threatened with lawsuits. With the conscious web sites allows users to create mp3 files from music videos.
Of the ranked websites YouTube-MP3.org the largest, with a number of 1.3 million per day. Google has sent a letter in which it is stated that the website needs to stop with the ripping of audio from video files, because it defines the terms and conditions of the YouTube api, will be violated. The conscious letter is in the hands of TorrentFreak, but is by Google itself not made public. Also has the internetreus sent a letter to Music-Clips.net that comparable services.
Reportedly gives Google the conscious websites seven days to stop the ripping of music, where access to YouTube from the servers of YouTube-MP3.org all is blocked. The service, however, seems still to work; compared to TorrentFreak let the conscious site know not to use the api that Google offers, but the video files on other way to obtain. Google threatens, however, with legal action if the site services are non cease.
There are many websites that allow users to audio – or video material to rip from Google video website. According to TorrentFreak are also websites regarded the other or offer similar services, but it is unclear whether this is also video-ripsites.
Ripsites for YouTube have been in existence for some time, and it is unclear why Google has decided now to act. Maybe this step is stimulated by the entertainment industry, who do not like to see their users to download content from YouTube.
