Windows 8 in four different editions to come out

Will Microsoft of its new Windows 8 operating system four versions release: a regular, a Pro version for advanced users, a special ARM version for tablets, and an Enterprise version for business users.

By only four editions to turn Microsoft made a huge step back compared to Windows 7, that in six variants. The standard version is simply ‘Windows 8’ is called and is similar to the Home Premium version of Windows 7. However, in the standard version, it is possible to install another language to exchange, a feature that is in Windows 7 only in the Enterprise and Ultimate editions.

For the more professional user there is Windows 8 Pro. This variant adds support for BitLocker, boot from vhd, client hyper-v, domains, bestandssysteemencryptie, group policy and the host-mode of Remote Desktop. In addition, users of Windows 8 Pro, an optional Media Center package can be purchased. The Enterprise edition builds on the Pro version, but offers more features in terms of deployment, security, virtualization and pc management.

The edition that’s only on the ARM architecture will work, is Windows RT baptized. This will only come pre-installed on a system are available. Windows RT is especially designed for use on tablets and notebooks with touchscreens. With Windows RT, Microsoft provides special versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, with which the interface is optimized for touch screens.
