Ubuntu 12.10 gets a code name Quantal Quetzal

Ubuntu 12.10, which in October will appear, codenamed Quantal Quetzal and taped. The new code follows the upcoming release of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, also known under the name Precise Pangolin.

The new codename for Ubuntu 12.10 has been released by Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth. Traditionally, animal species used in the Ubuntu codenames and also this time there is a question of: Quetzal is a bird species. Quantal is a reference to a structure of the mathematics.

According to Shuttleworth, will be in Ubuntu 12.10, especially the emphasis on quality, without being more specific about it. The exact plans for Quantal Quetzal will become clear in may when the Ubuntu Developer Summit in California organized. The release for Ubuntu 12.10 is determined on October 18.
