Anonymous bombards British government sites with ddos attacks

Members of the loose hackersgroepering Anonymous, claim a distributed denial-of-serviceattacks performed on websites of the British government. The activists claim to want to protest against ‘draconian toezichtsvoorstellen’.

Saturday night were the sites of the British Foreign office and 10 Downing Street, the website of the British prime minister David Cameron, are bombarded with ddos-attacks. The website of Foreign Affairs for hours unreachable, but it was Sunday partly accessible.

The ddos attacks are claimed by the loose hackersgroepering Anonymous. They would focus on the British government to protest against the ‘draconian toezichtsvoorstellen’ that the government Cameron would want to enter. According to the controversial legislative proposals, should police and intelligence services, real-time phone and internet traffic can be monitored.

Another reason that Anonymous members is called, is the uitleveringsbeleid of the United Kingdom. According to Anonymous British citizens without sufficient evidence, extradited to friendly countries. This is, among others, referred to the case of the British ‘Pentagon hacker” Garry McKinnon who for many years has fought against possible extradition to the US.
