Ziggo will in the coming months more and more hd channels to add to its range, but has for a long time to suffer from a lack of bandwidth. Qam modulation means that both the amplitude, i.e. the strength of the carrier wave, if the phase or angle of the carrier wave by the signal is modulated, to more data at the same time to be able to send. That means that there is less bandwidth required for the same amount of traffic.
