Twitter wants web pages to accelerate with spdy protocol

Twitter can from now on, the new spdy protocol. That made Raffi Krikorian of Twitter is clearly in a Twitter message. Spdy is an open-source network protocol developed by Google for the traffic to speed up.

By the network protocol, which Google, in 2009, developed, support, joins the social-networking site is among the few websites on Google that the protocol can use. Google contributed to the protocol, at the end of February to the IETF as internet standard to recognize.

With the spdy protocol enables web pages faster and safer be loaded by a few additions to the old http protocol. Thus, connections gemultiplext, automatically compressed and in most cases is also encrypted. Servers may also push to clients without a request needs to be sent.

Only Google Chrome and the next version of Firefox may with the protocol handling. Which browsers is, however, not that ‘speedy’ is used, only that it is a secure connection. In order to make visible that spdy is used, the Spdy Indicator extension to be used.
