Mojang is allowed to ‘game ‘ Scrolls’ name

Publisher Mojang has announced that his new game simply ‘Scrolls’ will call. The company claims, however, no trademark rights on the name. Details about how Mojang and Bethesda to each other, are not published.

The solution, which Mojang the name Scrolls for his game, but does not have exclusive rights to that name, seems to be part of a friendly solution between the publisher and Bethesda Softworks. The latter opened legal proceedings when it became clear that Mojang worked on a game that Scrolls would be called. Mojang has now reported that the company ‘friends with Bethesda’, but made no further details about the settlement with Bethesda known.

After Mojang revealed that the company was working on a digital card game with bordspelelementen called Scrolls, and tried the rights to the name to capture, challenged Bethesda Mojang to court. The American publisher thought that the name Scrolls too close to the came of the long-term franchise The Elder Scrolls.
