The helmet is according to the application intended for the playing of Xbox games, the glasses for use with smartphones and future devices.
Microsoft wants the glasses so that both glasses have the same view or any other glass with a different image, so that images in stereoscopic 3d can be viewed. The glass is also half-transparent, so that the glasses suitable for virtual reality applications. The carrier can than both the surrounding area as the projected image.
