Intel introduces Atom CE5300-mediaprocessor

Intel has the Atom CE5300 for consumer electronics has been officially released. The soc was formerly known under the name of Berryville, and is intended for application in set-top-boxes, which he, for example, video chat to tv’s.

The CE5300 is based on the Cedar Trail platform and the gpu is the PowerVR SGX545, which are more fuel efficient and more powerful than previous videochips with Atoms. One of the first devices, the CE5300 is using is the Amino Freedom Live Media Gateway. This device is equipped with 2GB ddr3, hdd 250GB, two gigabit ethernet ports, wifi-n, bluetooth, and usb 3.0.

Intel stresses once again that the market for smart tvs has not forsaken, as in October, the message was. The group has activities hosted by its Service Provider Division and focuses under that flag, with its platforms for smart tv’s to providers.
