Microsoft: Motorola is asking too much money for video patents

Microsoft has Motorola sued in the EU, because Motorola is not on reasonable terms and conditions of licenses for the h264-video standard to provide. According to Microsoft, Motorola’s new owner Google will use the patents offensively.

Motorola wants for fifty patents of the h264 video standard is $ 22.50 as a laptop computer 1000 dollar cost. That is too much, the Windows-maker. The company claims itself to competing companies 20 cents to ask for the use of many more patents. Companies that patents possess, must provide everyone with a license providing the same, reasonable terms. Microsoft claims that Motorola does not. Motorola will, in all likelihood, soon be acquired by Google.

The step is part of the patentenstrijd that rages between the tech, especially companies that are on the smartphone market are active. In addition to Samsung and Apple, many other companies have been sued. Microsoft itself put in the conclusion of license agreements.
