Erik Johnson, Valve project manager of Dota 2, has announced that the strategic game over a local area network can be played. Valve builds lan support because “we know how important that feature is for the community”.

Johnson made the announcement in an interview with fan site joinDota. The director of operations of the Dota 2 team has stated openly that there is lan support is built in to the game. “There are some systems which are necessary for a lan mode and that we are not finished, mainly because we spent a lot of time to matchmaking. However, We know how important the feature is for the community.”

Johnson let himself in the interview not on a date, Dota 2 is introduced. He didn’t want to say or for the game to be paid for or that the free playable is. He let loose that Valve is a new tournament around the game want to organise, as a follow-up to The International, that was held during GamesCom 2011. Valve will also be at least as much prize money available as last year, which is to say that Valve at least 1.6 million reserved for the tournament.
