The English edition of Wikipedia in 24 hours on black, to protest against a controversial, American antipiraterijwet. That is Monday decided. A number of other major sites, including Reddit and XDA Developers, it also goes offline.

Only the English edition is going offline, Wikipedia will be announced. The Dutch version is so simply to reach. The downtime of Wikipedia is Wednesday at 6 in the morning Dutch time and 24 hours later lifted. The proposed legislation makes it possible for copyright holders to American companies to ban together to work with sites that copyright infringement would commit. Hosting providers, ad networks, and betalingproviders should their services cease. Sites may already be offline to be removed if they are in accordance with a copyright holder not enough bets for copyright infringement to occur.

Previously, the Us government is known to be critical about the two bills. Also the European Parliament is against it. The two bills were separately submitted in the Senate and in the House of Representatives, but have a lot in common; they embroider both build on a previous law which didn’t make it.
