Sony announces Xperia S with a 720p screen

Sony has at CES in Las Vegas, the Xperia S is shown. The Android device has a 4.3″screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The unit should be part of the new Xperia NXT series.

The 4.3″screen is equipped with Sony’s Bravia Engine for excellent image quality concerns, says the manufacturer. The device runs on a dualcore soc, which work at 1.5 GHz. In addition, there are micro-usb and micro-hdmi connectors and can the 32GB of storage memory to be expanded with a micro-sd card. At the wireless level, there is support for wi-fi b/g/n, bluetooth, gps and nfc.

On the back of the device is the camera with ledflitser to find. This is based on an Exmor R sensor with a resolution of 12 megapixel. A photo must be in one and a half second, and video can be shot in 1080p. To the front is a camera placed for video calling, this has a resolution of 1.3 megapixel.

The device is 10.6 mm thick, weighs 144 grams and is is Playstation certified, allowing users to games that were originally on the Playstation console. The Xperia S is coming in march and will initially be on Android 2.3 to run. In the second quarter to an update to version 4 release.
