Silverstone launches new Kublai-housing

Silverstone has after five years Kublai housing update given. The new Kublai KL04 is mainly intended to a large number of drives lost to; in a total of twenty drives in the midtower enclosure to be built.

The Kublai KL04 has a black finished housing with a plastic front panel that brushed aluminum look. There are four external 5,25″-drivebays visible and the powerbuttons are a fixed part of the housing. The top is a recess made in which the frontpanel-connectors are to be found. These consist of two audio jacks and two usb 3.0 ports. The top is equipped with a large grid for the supply of fresh air, and the left side panel has an optional plexiglass window.

The inside of the KL04 has a large drivecage, in which nine 3,5″drives can be placed. The drives are close together, but a 120mm fan blowing air over the drives; a second instance is optional. An additional drivecage is for the power supply is placed, and can accommodate six 2.5-inch drives; a 3.5″-to place is also to use a 2.5″drive.

In addition to the two fans on the side, one of which is optional, is a 120mm exhaust in the back and a 120mm inlet in the top of built-in, possibly expandable with a second fan. Finally, at the bottom of a sixth fan can be built in. In the front are no fans to be found. The enclosure has space for an atx-board with up to eight expansion slots, the cooler is allowed to 168mm tall and graphics cards up to 43cm can be built. The Kublai should be around 100 euros in costs.
