Samsung goes ‘in the course of 2012 “a 55”-oled-tv with the model number, ES9000 release. The company has announced at the CES show in Las Vegas. The ES9000 offers Smart Interaction and is only a 7.3 mm thin.

Samsung is know any more surely then, with his introduction than competitor LG at its CES press conference, also a 55″-oled-tv showed but still could not confirm whether that prototype actually this year the market will appear.

In contrast to LG, which uses white oleds with a color filter, Samsung for its large oled tv using rgb subpixels. Also makes LG reportedly use a cheap production process. Because the pixels themselves emit light, viewing angles as good as a plasma tv, but the blacks were significantly better, while the brightness is higher. The big question is however, how quickly the blue oled subpixels age, and whether this is due to the firmware being compensated.

The ES9000 is equipped with a 1GHz dualcorechip that multitasking is possible. Also, the ES9000-oled-screen 3d display, which likely uses active 3d technology. Like the ES8000 lcd tv and the E800-plasma tv offers the ES9000 about Smart Interaction, a technology that allows the tv via voice recognition and gesture control.

The panel of the oled tv is a glass panel. The exact weight is not published, but would be about thirty percent lower located than that of a lcd-tv with led-backlight of similar size. The thickness of the 55″-oled-tv is only 7,3 mm.
