The Canadian Conurus and the Japanese Metabones for the Sony E-mount NEX cameras, an adapter was developed allowing the aperture and exposure of Canon EF lenses to be electronically controlled. The image stabilization also works.

Conurus, a Canadian company that specializes in lensinterfaces, and Metabones, a Japanese manufacturer, have joined hands and an adapter for Sony’s E-mount was developed with an electronic link for Canon EF lenses. This means that the aperture via the camera body can be set and that automatic exposure is possible.

Also, there is Exif support for the writing of the aperture and image stabilization of the lens support. It is with the adapter, however, not possible to focus automatically.

The manual focus is done with the set aperture, but the adapter is equipped with a so-called Wide-Open-button, with which the aperture fully open, so that the focus in manual focusing easier can be determined. In dslrs, is automatically focused by the lensdoorgang fully open.

Adapters for EF lenses on the NEX cameras to confirm have been in existence longer, but only a mechanical coupling between lens and camera. The new adapter is via Conurus or Metabones is immediately available. For the adapter, should the stock market be significantly broadened; it costs 399 dollar.
