BitFenix introduces Shinobi XL case

The Taiwanese kastenfabrikant BitFenix has a second version of the Shinobi-housing released. The Shinobi XL is a larger version of the earlier ge lwa ntroduceerde midtower and is designed for water coolant systems.

The Shinobi XL looks very similar to the previously released Shinobi: the cabinet is with a kind of rubber finish, and the air in – and outlets are made of metal grids. The XL version is bigger than the original: in place of 205x490x460mm measure the Shinobi XL 245 at 557 at 570 millimeters. In the new enclosure may be a xl-atx motherboard with up to nine expansion slots to be installed.

There are five external 5,25″drives and seven 3.5-inch drives be built. By the 3.5″bays and a 5.25″-bay to build there can also be eight 2,5″-drives can be mounted. With the drivecage in place cards up to a length of 377mm be built; if the cage is removed, there is space for cards of 492mm long. The cpu cooler may 193 millimeters high.

For the airflow, there is a 230mm intake on the front, a 120mm-exhaust at the rear and a 230mm-exhaust at the top. At the top can have a second 230mm fan to be built, but there can also be chosen for a large radiator with three 120mm fans. The front can have such a radiator be placed at the bottom is space for a dual radiator or two 120mm fans. The Shinobi XL is available from February and will have a suggested retail price of 140 euro.
