Asus starts rolling out Android ICS for Transformer Prime

Asus has the first users of the Transformer Prime features of the software update with Android Ice Cream Sandwich to the tablet. It comes to version 4.0.3, which is currently the latest version of the operating system.

Users can wait for Asus the new software over-the-air to the tablet sends, but it is probably also possible to install the update, by running the installation file to use. Android Police published the file that is required, although there was no instruction manual included. From the first experiences, it appears that the tablet with Android ICS smoother running.

The update also seems to have the Tegra 3 processor in the Transformer Prime at 1.6 GHz to run, as discovered by users of XDA Developers. Asus has the 1.6 GHz mode turned off, but with a custom kernel, is this possible to adjust. By default, it runs the processor at 1.3 GHz.

Previously promised, Asus is still the Android ICS update for the Transformer Prime from 12 January to roll out, but the manufacturer seems rather to have begun. The software is phased rolled out, so not everyone at the same time the update gets. It comes to Android 4.0.3, that some bug fixes compared to the 4.0.1 version that the Galaxy Nexus was released.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich includes a redesigned interface and brings full hardware acceleration. In addition, it adds the tablet – and smartphoneversies of Android together. Recently brought Asus all update that the problems with gps and with the camera on the Transformer Prime had to resolve.
