During Nvidia’s press conference around the Tegra 3 soc has Asus ceo Jerry Shen, the latest tablet from the Taiwanese company has announced. The new tablet gets a 7 inch display and is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 soc with four cores.

Nvidia had during his press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas little news to tell you. Ceo Jen-Hsun Huang demonstrated on the basis of the Transformer Prime, Asus 10″tablet with Tegra 3 soc is the computing power of the latest tablet processor. He did this more on the basis of photo editing software, Snapseed and the remote desktop agent SplashTop THD.

The real news, however, came through Jerry Shen, ceo of Asus. Shen showed a 7″tablet to the audience that is the same Tegra 3 chip as the Transformer Prime. The small tablet was, however, a 7″screen with a slightly lower resolution, of 1280×800 pixels. The powerful tablet with quadcore-processor will get a price tag of 249 dollars in America. Other specifications, such as the type of screen, connections and weight made Nvidia nor Asus are known.

However, the small tablet, just as other Tegra 3 tablets, use of connected standby, in which a fifth energy-saving core to perform simple tasks such as mail and twitter messages to retrieve. The fifth ‘Ninja-core’, such as this covert core was called, also provides for the control of the touch screen. Through Nvidia’s DirectTouch technology is the sample rate higher than that of the Tegra 2 soc, and pour it in when multiple fingers are detected.
