Asus and Gigabyte come with overclocked HD 7970 cards

Both Asus if Gigabyte are working on souped-up cards with custom coolers on the basis of AMD’s HD 7970-gpu. The card from Asus will get a DirectCu II cooling system, and Gigabyte has a cooler with three fans developed.

The Asus HD 7970 DirectCu II, a custom pcb and a drieslots cooler that the card interesting for overclockers. The map below includes further about the “VGA Hotfire’feature, where with a on the map soldered cable connection with an ROG Rampage IV motherboard is made. The voltages can then programmatically be jacked up.

Also Gigabyte has an overclocked HD 7970 in the pipeline. This GV-R797OC-3GD also has a custom pcb, and a gpu clock speed of 1GHz. The 3GB gddr5 memory at the default speed of 5500MHz clocked. Monitors can be connected to a dvi, a hdmi and two displayport outputs. The cooling makes Gigabyte use a dualslot cooler with three fans. Also this map is still no price is known.
