Rugged phone, Sonim will get nfc, for “indoor gps” applications

Sonim adds, using an optional rear door nfc to the rugged phone sonim XP3300 Force. The addition of nfc is not for pay, but must be ‘indoor gps’ to add users in the security and home care.

The tailgate, by Sonim Xpand NFC contains a nfc antenna with a range of 4cm. The reliability of the reading of tags is 99 percent, so claims the manufacturer. The valve is compatible with current and future Sonim models, but the manufacturer calls specific to the sonim XP3300 Force, since this year to purchase.

Adding nfc must landmark to offer indoors, where gps often does not work. “The Xpand NFC is designed for workgroups in the security, commercial cleaning services, mass transport, maintenance of equipment in the field and home care,” says Sonim. The system claims to be the location of phones to be determined by nfc tags in the workspace to place it. Because the phone in the background, the tags are read, the location can be determined. That location can then be forwarded.

Sonim makes tough phones with IP68 certification. This ‘bouwvakkerstelefoons can against dust and water, and are impact-resistant. The are no smartphones; there can be only Java-based applications to be turned.
