Microsoft has announced that Internet Explorer on systems running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 run automatically to upgrade to the latest version. Companies can have their automatic updates, if desired, to disable.

Until recently, there were new versions of Internet Explorer offered as optional updates or were new versions of browsers included in service packs.
