IBM let Windows manage via zEnterprise mainframes

IBM has announced that on december 16, a management position reports for its zEnterprise 196 and 114 mainframes. This will be the mainframes, now blade extensions are able to manage which Windows is running.

Traditional work in the mainframes of IBM along with Windows-based systems; the company chose the tried and tested Unix derivatives as z/OS, AIX and Linux. IBM, however, know that Windows applications now can be managed via its zEnterprise 196 and 114 mainframes, thanks to a new management position that becomes available. IBM brings this on 16 december, reports ComputerWorld.

According to IBM, the zEnterprise 196 and the zEnterprise 114 mainframe with the added Windows support a solid platform for the companies in which mainframes play an important role. You can use the mainframe to communicate with Windows servers that are on the attached BladeCenter extensions run.

By also Windows to support, it seems IBM is an alternative for companies who prefer to opt for a number of x86-based servers in place of the relatively expensive mainframe systems. The it giant claims that companies the necessary cost savings with simplified management in environments with various OS’and next to each other is worked.
