Energy sector wants ten thousand charging points for electric cars

The Association of Dutch Municipalities and various power companies want short-term rural ten thousand charging points for electric cars achieve. An exact target date is not fixed yet, they request to know.

The VNG now has a model contract released in which municipalities faster charging stations for electric cars could achieve. Some municipalities are already making use of the agreement, which among other insight to offer in the current standards for the placement of charging stations. So the document displays information about the correct location for the poles. Municipalities of Alphen aan den Rijn, the netherlands, and Groningen would be the agreement all short-term want to draw.

It is currently a pilot project of the association of Dutch municipalities and stichting E-laad, on behalf of various energy companies, public charging stations for electric cars places and maintains. E-laad aims nationally to more than ten thousand public charging stations, especially at strategic, high-traffic places. Electric car owners can the municipality also requests for a charging point in their road to achieve. E-load has the budget to one charging point per ten thousand inhabitants to pay, the municipality regulates the further organisation of the car park.

The VNG wants the electric transport within municipalities to encourage. Municipalities are however not obliged to comply with the agreement. “This is on a voluntary basis. The agreement allows for municipalities only makes it easier to fast-charging stations to places,” says Liane in the Size of the VNG.

The number of charging stations for electric cars is increasing; in the past summer was the counter to five hundred, compared to fifty a year earlier. E-load, by different energy companies is established, expected in december the thousandth of a charging point in the Netherlands. With the pilot, they hope to be the extent to which electric cars the power grid strain. “We still have a year, to a maximum of ten thousand points,” says spokesman Eric van Kaathoven. “About a year need to prove who from then on points, placing and maintaining: the government or the energy companies.”
