The Second Room is behind a proposal from the SP to a ‘digital fire brigades’. That to 24 hours a day, dedicated to ict security vulnerabilities to respond. Under the DigiNotar-issues are the cause.

The SP wants to be a ‘kind of A-team, a crashteam with nerds’ 24 hours per day can be summoned to ict security vulnerabilities, writes Computerworld. A large majority of the Second Chamber is behind the proposal, including profile) CDA.

However, it is still unclear how the ict ‘fire brigade’ by the SP, it is proposed, should be styled and or this, for example, without permission must be able to intervene in ict-problems. It is also unclear whether the ‘fire brigade’ only in action if public sector organisations with a security incident camps, or that even companies and other institutions need to be helped.

The Second Room is unhappy about the government oversight of ict security, including as a result of the problems at the Beverwijkse certificate authority DigiNotar, which after a hack hundreds of fake ssl certificates issued. According to SP Member of parliament Sharon Gesthuizen is a ‘digital doomsday scenario” if nothing changes.

At the moment there are however, different governmental organisations dealing with ict security. The High Tech Crime Team of the KLPD conducts research into crimes in which ict plays a role, and Govcert supports public authorities to security incidents. At 1 January 2012, Govcert included in the new National Cyber Security Centre. What VVD Mp Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the tasks of an ict ‘fire fighting’ at that centre. Hennis-Plasschaert stressed that, in particular, also attention must be paid to the prevention of it incidents.

A Kamermeerderheid stands behind the proposal of Hennis-Plasschaert to organisations to require security incidents to report. There will also be an investigation into the security issues surrounding DigiNotar, promises minister Piet Hein Donner of Internal Affairs according to the Volkskrant. The research by the Research council for Safety.

The Second Chamber held a debate Thursday evening about the ict security issues at the government. Earlier on Thursday, said minister Donner that the government’s stricter supervision of ict would keep. The Ministry of Security and Justice gave in september next year, more work to make of ict security; when the police comes more attention to cybercrime and the police need more ict experts attract.
