Comment: Trump – A spectre is haunting

Really not addressed the political Berlin with the idea that Donald Trump could soon come as the U.S. President to Germany: Because no one likes to imagine, says Jens Thurau.

After all, Friedrich Merz: A reply to Donald Trump, finally. Merz was a really important CDU-politician, Group leader in the Bundestag, now he is the Chairman of the Atlantik-Brücke. He calls Trump a “frightening phenomenon”. To do this, you must know that Merz is part of the right wing of the CDU and the like, and again and again the “social democratisation” of his party, Angela Merkel, criticizes. Or to put it differently: If Merz Trump is already terrifying, what is the political spectrum of Merz thinks then considered to be in the middle up to the left?

There is such a thing as Trump-shock rigid. And a vague feeling according to the Motto: It is still more probable, that in the end Hillary Clinton will win – not now, just a little nervous.

And therefore: No reaction, if Trump Merkel’s refugee policy without a great deal of knowledge as a “total Disaster”, when he says that the Chancellor have added Germany “enormous damage” that the Union now had problems “since a Million years”. And if he no longer rants of many “rapes” in Cologne’s new year’s eve night, the fact that women in Germany are safe from loud sex addicts refugees.

Jens Thurau, Berlin-correspondent of DW

For many months, German politicians have looked with a mixture of fascination and horror feeling across the Atlantic. This hair, this Aggression, this heavy-handed argument. A bit reminiscent of the Germans and their relationship to George W. Bush, but only a bit. Also, the former US President was extremely unpopular in Germany, but all the same, Angela Merkel, does not stand on his side, as she was still Chancellor, and defended the Intervention of the USA in Iraq (what are you looking at today as an error). But Trump? For God’s Sake…

Germany has other things to Worry about

And so polls like this come into existence: 74 percent of Germans would vote for Hillary Clinton, only eight percent of Donald Trump. And not the Russian President Vladimir Putin sympathetic (if he can even find someone sympathetic) – is somehow on par with him, Trump? Russia and the US, as the thickness of the friends, and Germany is not in between: If it scares you.

We have just enough different, that we need to take care of us, so the attitude in Berlin: The refugee crisis, the disintegration of Europe, the war in Syria, in Ukraine, the interference of Russia.

Overall, Washington’s policy is the German translated. Barack Obama, the beam was the end of Hero in this country. What a historic Moment, the first black US President! He has not kept, and what had promised to the Germans by him. The USA no longer seem to be so important. And this is not actually just a large Theater with this Trump, how Hollywood invented? If this is really reality, then what? No, for the Moment, we don’t want to think that, now.
