Great product, I miss only the USB 2.0 ports for a simple Windows 7 installation. Good to use behind a monitor and is worth every penny!

Pros

  • Simple to build
  • Compact
  • 4 USB ports
  • Still, after adjustments in bios

Cons

  • No usb 2.0 ports(on the outside)
  • Is not completely silent(no bios settings to change)

Final conclusion

Score: 4Per criterion

Review on a intel RACK NUC5PPYH”The Shape that Fits the Future” ‘Intel’

Why the RACK?
I have the RACK purchased after a purchase topic that I at desktop advice. Had this already several systems stuck together but never such a small systeempje.

The choice of the system was the design very important. The computer was purchased to be used at the grandpa and grandma of my girlfriend. They want great email, Facebook, and surf the internet. The design played a big role and I had proposed to the computer behind the screen.

Beautiful(a bit overkill), but great screen and a RACK where they are for now forward can.

Installation of the SSD and geheugenbalkjes
After they invented how to get the RACK open( 4 screws), I wanted the memory to go places.
This went against my natural feeling, because you had to be there for a kind of top it off to press and then slide it in the docking. Then the SSD installed, this was easier than Lego(provided you have the right side above did).

Then connected to my display, and when there was some swearing.. Blue screen for the installation of Windows 7… it on W7 in the bios, but the problem was, now that I have my keyboard and mouse could not use it..
It turned out so that I Windows 7 is not without some modifications, it could install because it is not automatically a USB 3.0 supported. Here is a link that I received:

I got there eventually but just Windows 10 on a USB-stick which can be downloaded from the Windows site.

After some minor updates works the RACK perfectly, and this week will be taken into use at my girlfriend’s grandpa and grandma!

The RACK run get
With thanks to M. K. for his response, we can ensure that the RACK run to work:

BIOS: fanspeed set

The first time you turn on the RACK I heard the obvious sound of the fan and that is of course not the intention. So immediately the BIOS to set the fanspeed to adjust. The BIOS speaks all for itself, it is the usual RACK BIOS. Setting the fanspeed is what concerns me cumbersome. I would expect that you simply can say “keep the temperature of the CPU around the X degrees Celsius with a low speed of the fan”, but this is how it works so not. You need a minimum speed of the fan set, expressed in the percentage of the (unknown to me) limit of the fan, and also a minimum(?)set the temperature. How the RACK then with this info, what is important is to me not entirely clear, but after some try, I can hear the fan (running at 20%), and the CPU is around 55 degrees. BIOS you can actually just do it from Windows with a .exe update. Child could use it. Source

Why would you choose for this RACK??
The RACK is ideal if you’re looking for:
– Compactness
– Fast & Simple
– Design
– Price/quality ratio
