“Plextor introduces high-end pci-e-ssd M6e Black Edition”

Plextor has a pci-e ssd for the high-end market announced. The M6e Black Edition is built around 19nm nand flash from Toshiba and Marvell 88SS9183 controller. Plextor comes with three storage formats.

It is In fact a Plextor M6–ssd with m2-package on a pci-e board is mounted. Plextor offers the M6e Black Edition a striking metal casing and red aluminum heatsink. Thus, it is clear that the manufacturer is at gamers and other demanding consumers and not on the business market. In addition to the Toshiba nand memory and Marvell controller the drive is a cache on the basis of PlexTurbo 2.0.

The manufacturer brings three variants of the M6e Black Edition, with storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, with the cachehoeveelheid respectively 256MB, 512MB and 1GB. The specified sequential read speed for the 512GB model is up to 770MB/s and write to the drive at up to 625MB/s. The amount of iops in 4KB random read and write is respectively 105.000 100.000.

In addition to the pci-e 2.0 x4 interface is a 15 pin sata connection for the drive’s power supply. Prices, Plextor has not yet published. In the course of 2015, the M6e-line appear but details on this report the manufacturer has not yet.
