Two of the three most important organizations in the field of wireless charging, the Alliance for Wireless Power and Power Matters Alliance, have decided to merge. Mid-2015 should the organizations merge, what the development of products for wireless charging to promote.

The merger follows a year of intensive cooperation, thus the two organizations. A year ago, left the Alliance for Wireless Power and Power Matters Alliance, already know that they are both standards compatible would make. With the merger in the Rezence standard will definitely be an end to the competition between the two standards.

The A4WP technology is based on magnetic resonance. Devices do not directly make contact to wireless charging, and multiple devices with different power needs are at the same time to load. PMA focuses on the development of induction, in which the charging device on a specific spot on the laadoppervlakte must be placed.

The two standards have now jointly the competing standard, Qi of the Wireless Power Consortium before him. Among others, HTC, Samsung, LG and Nokia made devices with support for charging via induction based on the Qi standard.
