Api allows websites to adapt to what users on watching tv

The api of a U.s. startup that makes web sites of their content and advertisements may customize what the user is currently watching on television. The technique requires separate hardware and software in the tv.

The American startup Flingo has the api with the name Sync Apps created, writes Technology Review. One of the larger tv manufacturers later this year a model release with the necessary hardware and software onboard for the technology.

Sync Apps works, because the hardware and software of the time, and the transmitter transmits to an external server, in a program guide to look up which program is being viewed. Then content and ads with the same internet connection as the tv will be viewed, be adapted to that information. According to Flingo are channels like MTV and Fox is positive about the technique, because easy for users additional content about programs without existing business model of television broadcasters need to be adjusted.

The information would also be of value to advertisers, who in a programme about cars, for example, similar information could show when, where and for what price the discussed car is available. It is unclear if and when the technology wider will be applied.
