Elektronicagiganten Sony and LG have a licentiedeal closed for their patentruzie. Both companies performed in the past few years, a legal battle over patents, with the low point in the seizure of 300,000 PlayStations.
Spokespersons of both companies confirm against Reuters news agency that a deal is closed. The patentruzie went about smartphones, blu-ray technology and tv’s. The details were not disclosed, but it is expected that both companies license each other’s patents have taken. Or one company to the other company should pay, is unclear.
The patentruzie three years have lasted, but the low point was in march this year, when LG 300,000 copies of the PlayStation 3 in attachment let. That PlayStations layers in a distribution centre in Tilburg, the netherlands and were destined for the European market. The seizure was within a week lifted.
The companies are dropping all lawsuits that they have against each other had brought. Underneath was a large lawsuit with the court in The Hague. That lawsuit, which the sessions this fall were to occur, are repealed.
