Intel puts $ 300 million extra in Ultrabook ecosystem

Intel has announced that through a special fund of 300 million dollars is to invest in companies that can contribute to the Ultrabook ecosystem. The investments are spread over a period of three to four years.

Intel Capital-branch goes through the Ultrabook Fund to invest in companies that are both software – as hardwaregebied can contribute to the development of the Ultrabook concept. It will mainly place the emphasis on technologies in the field of long battery life, designinnovaties and improved storage capacity. The investment of 300 million to be spread over a period of three to four years.

Intel unveiled the Ultrabook concept earlier this year at the Computex trade show in Taipei. The new laptopcategorie is characterized by a sleek aluminum body, a second-generation Core i-processor, long battery life, and fast start-up times. Asus presented simultaneously with Intel’s introduction of its UX21-Ultrabook, and recently leaked pictures of Acers first Ultrabook. According to Intel the first Ultrabooks later this year in the shops.
