The province of Gelderland, is planning the largest floating zonnepark of the Netherlands in more Detail. It is going to be 1500 solar panels with a total capacity of 390 kilowatts-peak.

In total, the basin in Detail to give space to a maximum of 5000 solar panels that floats in the water be placed. In theory, this is sufficient for about 350 households. In addition to the basin must be a transformer station for electricity supply to the grid.

The cost for floating solar panels would not be higher than that on the country and placement of water would be a number of benefits. So does the water cooling which makes the yield is higher and the risks of vandalism are smaller.

The project for the 1500 initial solar panels is an investment of 531.000 euros, of which a quarter through a loan from the province of Gelderland funded and half through additional loans. The remaining quarter should be with locally funded and last week, the registration for participation started.
