Comment: The Chinese are coming? Good!

The marvels of the professional and the layman wonders: China buys billions in European companies. Some power of the fear. But what should it be bad? Nothing, says Henrik Böhme.

That’s a clear message: 43 billion Euro. So much, it wants the Chinese Staatskonzern China Chemical National Corp., short ChemChina, cost on plant protection products and seed, specialized Swiss chemical company Syngenta to take over. Should the Deal come about, it would be the largest investment from the middle Kingdom in a European country. 43 billion: that would Make the 22 billion, the Chinese investors in the past year in Europe as a whole, have output, with a single Acquisition already doubled. Also, in the past year was already ChemChina one of the most active players: seven billion bought one of the Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli, for almost a billion at the German machine manufacturer Krauss-Maffei. So many runs because of the cold shivers over the back, but the sell-off in the West, summoned.

But this is complete and utter nonsense.

The Chinese companies just make their homework. You do what the Communist party as a Plan thought up. And in China, since the party is still right. On the one hand, the Chinese away from the Image as a workbench of the world, just the world with cheap products to flood. Even if Apple’s iPhones, despite the Made in China everything else than cheap. No, Seriously: the Chinese have at the mercy of your economy to rebuild, you need to and want to be stronger in the High-Tech area to penetrate, and therefore also in Europe specifically for High-Tech companies. Companies, for example, in the area of networked production (key word industry 4.0) are in the lead. There is, for example, in Germany and look around.

And nobody has to be afraid of.

Than three weeks before the Deal the Chinese Krauss-Maffei was closed, happened, wonderful things: Management AND staff welcomed unanimously by the new owner. Even the competent trade Union was taken. No wonder: ChemChina has promised the preservation of the sites and the Jobs, even new Places should be created. Of course only the future will show what such promises are worth. Finally, in France just to visit, as it is also different: Instead promised to Make, to build the US-giant General Electric, the acquired company Alstom just massive Jobs. But only at the margins. Of course you have to be careful, that not simply know-how to the middle Kingdom, will be transferred. So far have acquired the medium-sized German companies with Chinese owners mostly positive experiences. Most of them see above all as an opportunity, yet it is in this way also easier for the Chinese market to conquer. And this market, even if it is just a period of weakness going through, still remains one of the most attractive in the world.
