System administrators for the twelfth year in a row in limelight

Friday is the twelfth time that SysAdminDay is celebrated. The day is meant for companies to system administrators in the limelight as a thank you for their efforts. Also in the Netherlands it is of American origin, the initiative celebrated.

SysAdminDay has been for twelve years on the last Friday of July. The initiative, which in 2000 created by system administrator Ted Kekatos. He was inspired by an HP advertisement in which a system administrator was showered with favors, flowers and fruit bowls, because he was a printer was installed. Then he decided that it was time for system administrators a day in the year in the limelight, and he organized the first System Administrator Appreciation Day.

The SysAdminDay-project of Kekatos, has now grown into a worldwide phenomenon.
