Sharp has in the United States, the tv brand Elite Pioneer new lease of life with the introduction of two Elite Pro-lcd-tvs. The high-end tv-series comes in a 60″ and 70″version and makes use of local dimming.
At the beginning of this year, it was announced that Sharp has an agreement with Pioneer for the use of its brand name Elite for lcd tv’s. Sharp is 14 per cent owner of Pioneer. In april of this year it leaked out that Sharp was working on an X5-series, a high-end tv line. These tv’s seem the Elite brand to wear.
By Sharp announced Elite Pro-60X5FD and Elite Pro-70X5FD have a diagonal screen size of, respectively, 60″ and 70″, and make use of a Sharp Quattron-panel. Pixels of this 240Hz-lcd consists of four subpixels instead of the usual three. Just as the LE935, which at CES this year was presented, the two Elite Pro-tv’s Sharp full-led scanning backlight with local dimming.
Sharps new Intelligent Variable Contrast technology, more contrast, and good zwartwaarden sure. Also, the Elite Pro devices equipped with FluidMotion, a new frame-interpolatietechniek – the difference with Sharp’s own AquoMotion is not known. In contrast to the Aquos tv’s come with the Elite Pro models on a THX mode and ISF calibration options. Also get, the two models are THX 3D-certified, which means that the colors and the white balance in the 3d view correspond to those in the 2d view.
Wi-fi is built-in and the tv provides access to online services such as Netflix, Twitter, Vudu, YouTube, Facebook and Napster. Also, there may be a Skype webcam on the devices to be connected. The two Elite Pro’s are equipped with five hdmi ports, two 15W speakers and a 15W subwoofer. The housing is of metal; the front is finished with brushed aluminum.
The Elite Pro tv-series will be only at authorized Pioneer Elite dealers in the United States to be sold. Pioneer provides the sales support and for the sale of matching Elite audio equipment. The 60″version is $ 6000 costs, while the 70″version 8500 dollar must yield.
