Razers 7″-gaminghandheld with lcd keys gets Atom Z690

The Switchblade-handheld Razer the first device, an Atom Z690. The chip, which is especially for tablets, is created, running at 1.7 GHz and is a faster version of the Z670. Remains unclear if the Switchblade is on the market.

Razer revealed the Switchblade in the beginning of this year at CES as a conceptual model. The device has a 7″touch screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, 128GB-ssd, hdmi port, usb 2.0 interface, camera, bluetooth, 3g and wi-fi. Under the transparent keys is still a touchscreen, that game-specific icons can show. In the course of the year, the manufacturer has a few announcements made, inter alia, on cooperation with several Chinese software companies. This seems to suggest that Razer is planning the model in the long term on the market.

For the time being, the manufacturer refer to under the heading of ‘concept’, but Razer does have a new version developed, with Atom Z690 is equipped. The first version of the Switchblade contained an unspecified Atom. The Z690 has a clock speed of 1.7 GHz, where the Z670 1.5 GHz ran. The gpu on 45nm-produced system-on-a-chip is the GMA 600, which on PowerVR’s SGX-video chip is based on. According to Brad Graff of the netbook – and tabletdivisie of Intel is the Atom powerful enough for 3d pc games to run in a small form factor system.
