Ubisoft sees quarterly revenue drop

The French game publisher Ubisoft in the first quarter of its financial year 2011-12 to 103 million euro turnover achieved. That is less than over the same period a year ago, but more than Ubisoft initially for this quarter expected.

Although Ubisoft, with a turnover of 103 million euros lower scores than last year, when the months of april, may and June, together accounting for 161 million euros, the turnover was higher than the 90 million euros that Ubisoft had initially expected. The company writes that better performance in a declaration, especially to the good performance of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, which is also in the spring of 2011, yet often over-the-counter is gone.

The year-on-year continuous decline is due to Child of Eden and Michael Jackson: The Experience. These games didn’t have the same results as SplinterCell Conviction and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which in the first quarter of the previous financial year appeared.

Ubisoft is expected in the second quarter of financial year 2011-12 with a turnover of just under a hundred million to meet, which is approximately equal to the same period last year. For the full year expected the French publisher with a turnover that eventually between of 1.04 and 1.08 billion euro, which later this year appearing titles as Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Just Dance 3 and Driver: San Francisco will have to contribute.

In addition, Ubisoft has plans for its larger franchises to tablets. In a conference call after the presentation of the quarterly figures showed Ubisoft-director Yves Guillemot by IGN noted that under more Assassin’s Creed for tablets will come. “Apple and several other companies are coming up with tablets. For that platform, we make a number of products around our biggest brands.
